Snoring Prosthesis

Snore is defined as noisy sound made by the individual during sleep. According to the definition in the medical literatüre; the soft palate and small tongue grow larger than normal and prolapse especially in adults with weight problems. These loose tissues make smaller bronchus and the air to the lungs vibrates these tissues. As a result, it is heard snoring sound. The complete blockage of the airway by accumulation of the loose tissues is called as Sleep Apnea (occlusion).

The complete blockage of the airway by accumulation of the loose tissues is called as Sleep Apnea (occlusion).

The most typical symptoms are difficult waking up, headache and nausea in the mornings depending on lack of trepopnea, always somnolence during the day, especially dozing off after lunch-dinner, concentration disorder and a constantly tired and reluctant mood.

Also the level of oxygen in the blood falls below normal in the later stages of the disease and it causes to hypertension and heart enlargement.

The people with severe sleep apnea have heart attack or paralysation risks.

  • overweight adults
  • people often use of alcohol and cigarettes
  • people under intense stress
  • people use sedative or muscle relaxant
  • genetically

Today, there are three methods of treatment for snoring in modern medicine:

These are surgical applications to soft palate and tongue, CPAP mask and snoring prostheses applied by otorhinolaryngologists.

Surgical applications are not made for every patient and also have a risk of relapse after application. CPAP mask is used at nights and prevents the occlusion by constantly blowing air.  But the use of this device is difficult (obligation of recumbence, sound of the equipment, nose dryness etc.) and it is an expensive application.

Snoring prosthesis used at nights and inserted on the teeth opens the airway and prevents snoring and sleep apnea by giving forward and downward positions to mandibular and by providing old tensions to the loose tissues. The earlier the disease is, the shorter the duration of treatment is.

  • It is easy and comfortable to use.
  • Reduces snoring and sleep apnea from the moment of its use (often stops the snoring and sleep apnea at the first night). The main effects are observed within 3-4 weeks.
  • Fits in a small denture cup and can be carried anywhere.
  • Does not require any surgical intervention.
  • Is cheaper than other treatment methods.
  • Its therapeutic effect is mentioned in many scientific studies

Snoring and sleep apnea are the result of tightening and narrowing of the airway by prolapsing the small tongue, soft palate, and tongue. The airway in the swallowing part must be opened. Therefore It does not stop neither sleep apnea nor snoring, because none of the apparatuses inserted to the nose can do this. Do not rely on such products.

Snoring treatment is important to increase your daily life quality and to decrease your risk of certain diseases, besides having a healthy and comfortable sleep.

Due to the decreasing of oxygen intake into the body, the risks of heart disease and lung disease increase. In the later stages of apnea, there are risks such as not being able to wake up and death during sleep.

It doesn’t always cause. Snore is sometimes only a disease  and sometimes a symptom of sleep apnea.

Snore and sleep apnea are about two times more common in men than women. Because the fat deposit of men is in the upper part of the body especially in the neck area and the fat deposit of women is generally in the lower part of the body.

No, the prosthesis has no side effects.

It is only inserted at night and the use for 6 hours is enough.

No. It remains fixed in the mouth, because it is inserted on the teeth

The size is enough to fit your teeth. It does not have a part extending to the throat.

The treatment period varries between 4-12 months depending on the severity of the disease and the state of the patient. The prosthesis is used only during the treatment.

You cannot use another person’s prosthesis; because they are made according to the person’s mouth structure.

It is not difficult to insert and remove the prosthesis. Its use is very easy.

No side effects. You can sleep more comfortably and healthier, since it will increase your oxygen intake

It is prepared within 1 day. For patients from another city, It is given during the day.

Since the snoring prosthesis is private made, it can be used for other mouth prostheses and in case of toothlessness.

Anyone whose jaw structure is suitable for the treatment can use snoring prosthesis.

You can keep it as desired by putting into special prosthetic boxes. You can carry it as desired.

Its effect is gradually seen in 3-4 weeks from the first night.

Snore and sleep apnea cause less oxygen than normal. Since oxygen is necessary for our body, it can cause pre-ejaculation and sexual reluctance.

Due to insufficient oxygen during sleep at night, the heart functions faster than normal and causes to wake up tired.

Snore and sleep apnea are interdependent diseases. The initial stage of sleep apnea is snoring. Therefore, the earlier the disease is treated, the shorter the treatment duration is.

Oxygen deficiency increases the risk of heart attack, because It causes more burden on the heart.

Snore reduce the life quality, because the snoring person harms both his environment and himself.

The snoring prosthesis does not cause to malfunction in your chin. You will have your old appearance after removal of the prosthesis.

The bone growth must be completed fort he application of snoring prosthesis. In other words, it can be applied after the age of 17 for women and after 18 for men.
